After a quarter century of home makeovers, I have found that children make the best clients, from their boundless imagination, insatiable curiosity, and fearless energy. The eyes of a child perceive the emotional gestures within a house, expressing happiness, silliness, hopes and dreams.


Below are a few examples of my collaborations with kids, before and after pictures of their homes, to offer inspiration and possibilities for your own house.

















Watching my sons play in our house, doing things never imagined, is the same energy found in the drawings of a child - unexpected surprises, revealing the true nature of a thing.


Drawing with children, I also noticed that at a certain age in elementary school, most kids stop drawing. There can be many reasons for this, but more importantly, there are good reasons to continue drawing, daily, at any age. Peaople who draw, think differently, communicate clearly, innovate easily.


So, I started an initiative: Why Learn to Draw?, to hold onto this childhood tendency and talent into adulthood, preserving curiosity and discovery through drawing. And, to do so, I created a coloring book, as a place to begin drawing again and find the child still hiding inside all of us.
